The paper industry in China has gradually transitioned to a regulatory system dominated by self-discipline management by industry associations. The China Paper Industry Association is a self regulatory organization in China's paper industry. It was registered and established in 1992 by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, under the guidance of relevant departments of the State Council. It is a national and industrial social organization voluntarily formed by pulp and paper enterprises and public institutions, and is a non-profit social organization. Its purpose is to establish and improve industry self-discipline mechanisms in accordance with market-oriented principles, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its members; Implement national industrial policies, fulfill government authorized and entrusted functions, assist government departments in strengthening industry management, widely connect with enterprises and industry organizations in the domestic and foreign paper industry and related industries, play a bridge and link role between the government and enterprises and institutions, adhere to serving enterprises, the industry, and the government, and promote the development of China's paper industry towards a direction of technological innovation, resource conservation, and environmental friendliness.
